Trying not to go BROKE

 New WSOP event

I was thinking last night, while losing all of my chips in the 4K guarantee H.O.R.S.E. on FullTilt, about a new event for the WSOP. Not that there are not already enough events, I just think that this one would be a true test of skill. I would start off with NL hold 'em, then change to Omaha Hi/Lo. So far nothing too out of the ordinary, but here is where things get interesting. After Omaha H/L, the game would change to deuce to seven triple draw, then we would switch and play pot limit five card draw, and to finish it up everyone's favorite Jacks or better, trips to win. The final table would consist of only Baseball.

I am open to change so maybe some more home game favorites could be thrown in, but that is what I came up with. Additionally there would be unlimited rebuys through the first three levels. If you go busto and need to rebuy, it doesn't cost any more money, Male players have to drink three beers out of the beer bong, and female players would have to remove an article of clothing, unless stated otherwise by the tournament director (me). After level 9 there will not be a 90 minute dinner break, but instead a Pub Crawl for all the remaining players, anyone who is still conscious enough to play, or at least sit at the table, will come back and finish the tourney. If you are unable to continue, your chips will be given to the player who shot guns a beer the fastest. Throwing up will directly result in your elimination and three year ban from the tourney. The champion of course would get a bracelet, the cash, and a discount on a liver transplant.

 Effing Donk

How is it that when it comes to tournaments I either play amazing poker and go really deep, or I bust out in the first 20 minutes. I mean I guess it is best that if you are going to go broke to do it quickly, but christ, there is no in between. If I show up at the table and am feeling good and ready to play, maybe get lucky once or twice I have a real shot. There are other times that I just cannot keep myself from raising from third position with 5 7 os. What the hell is my problem. When I am playing badly it also seems that I get unlucky far more often than when I am playing well, thus leading to the dreaded blow up. Mike Matusow has nothing on me. I don't just tilt, I tip over, and when I do things get truly ugly. I think I will take tonight off to recharge the batteries and be back tomorrow. I am headed back to A.C. this weekend and cannot afford to blow up in the cash game's where the live ones give away their money. Fish Farm here I come.

 They were suited

I can't count how many times I have heard this used as an excuse to play trash. Most recently I heard someone use this excuse to justify someone else's play. I can't get overly angry though, I will play in a game with someone who will call off his entire stack with the suited deuce three any time. It just makes me absolutely ill that the worst play I have ever seen, potentially cost me 210 thousand dollars. What makes me even sicker is that someone else in the tourney would defend the donk move by saying, "they were suited and he was in position." To me this is almost as stupid as when I used the "I didn't know I couldn't do that" excuse when I got pulled over for using the left turn only lane as a passing lane. Of course I knew I couldn't do that! Just as he knew that he was way behind when he made the call! The funny thing is these two acts of extreme jackassery worked out very well for both me, and the guy who busted me with the 2 3 (suited). The problem with this is that since we were both rewarded for our stupidity, him with all my chips, me without a traffic citation, i think that it is human nature to try again. Herein lies the problem. He probably will not be rewarded for calling off over 70K with deuce three again, and if it happens against me I will have more than enough money to pay for my traffic fine. This rationalization is the only way for me to sleep at night. Any way you look at it some one owes me 210 g's.
